Harvey’s story: From apprentice to trusted colleague

Harvey joined OCM as a warehouse apprentice with plenty of enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Over the course of his apprenticeship, he worked across asset tracking, dispatch and recycling, gaining valuable practical experience.

“I started at OCM with very little experience, straight from college, and I was supported every step of the way,” says Harvey. “The apprenticeship helped me learn and now I’ve got a good step on the career ladder. I’m trusted to take on real responsibility and be part of a great team.”

Today, Harvey helps coordinate daily dispatches, orders, audits and plays an important role in our sustainability work. His journey shows how apprenticeships can lead to lasting employment and professional growth.

Kieren’s story: Progressing through passion and hard work

Kieren began his IT apprenticeship in Pershore with a real interest in technology. He quickly adapted to life in the warehouse, verifying IT assets, supporting refurbishment projects and learning about secure data handling.

“I learned so much during my apprenticeship at OCM,” says Kieren. “It wasn’t just about the practical skills, but also about working together as a team. The support I got really boosted my confidence, and I’m proud to now be a full-time employee.”

Kieren’s drive and curiosity didn’t go unnoticed. After completing his apprenticeship, he was promoted to Warehouse Systems Co-ordinator, working alongside our IT team to streamline stock systems and maintain data compliance.
