OCM speak at sustainability forum

The OCM team spoke at the Sustainability Forum sponsored by Worcestershire County Council. The event was hosted by the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce on 22 January 2026.

Held at the Low Carbon Technology Training Centre at Holme Lacy College. The forum brought together businesses from across the region. The focus was on practical approaches to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Representing OCM, Gemma Bott and Paul Mills shared insight into how responsible e-waste management plays a vital role in improving sustainability outcomes for organisations of all sizes.

They spoke about the importance of taking a practical approach to sustainability, particularly when it comes to managing redundant IT equipment.

“Sustainability doesn’t need to be overcomplicated. Making sure IT equipment is handled, reused or disposed of responsibly is a straightforward step businesses can take to reduce waste, stay compliant and improve their environmental impact.”

Paul also highlighted how sustainability and compliance go hand in hand. Particularly around secure processes for IT asset disposal and data protection.

The session reflected OCM’s day-to-day work supporting organisations with secure IT disposal and data destruction services.

The discussion also covered the importance of clear IT collection and logistics processes, to ensure equipment is tracked, handled safely and processed responsibly.
