How technology from OCM is supporting job seekers in Glasgow
August 19, 2025
Empowering job seekers with refurbished and new technology, how our work with Greater Pollok Services CIC - with Sanctuary Housing and Match My Project - has made a positive impact.
OCM believe that small actions can have a big impact, especially when it comes to supporting local communities. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with Greater Pollok Services CIC, an incredible organisation dedicated to helping job seekers in Glasgow access the tools and support they need to thrive.
Bridging the gap with tech
Before receiving our support, Greater Pollok Services faced a challenge: their job club participants often had to wait or be referred elsewhere to print CVs or use computers for online job searches. This limited the support they could offer.
“The printers are amazing and making our lives so much easier. They help us provide a much better service to our job seekers. Thank you so much!”
Thanks to our donation of refurbished laptops and new portable thermal printers, the team can now operate more efficiently across multiple locations. Job seekers can print CVs on the spot and search for jobs with direct guidance from the staff.
Donna Foote from Greater Pollok Services shared her excitement:
“Thank you so much Gemma , you have no idea how much this means to us as an organisation. Being able to give people even more support at our job clubs by allowing job seekers to job search themselves giving more independence, print cvs ready for them to start submitting straight away is going to make our service even busier which is great cause we will reach more people. Thank you so much for supporting Greater Pollok Services.”
Supporting the community
The impact of this donation has been immediate:
- Job seekers no longer have to wait for access to essential technology.
- Staff can provide hands-on support during job searches.
- The organisation can serve more people across multiple locations.
During a visit to their job club at Threehills Community Supermarket, Donna and her team, along with Marie Hasson from Sanctuary Housing and Heather from the community café, captured moments showing the printers and laptops in action. Seeing the direct benefit for the community was truly inspiring.
OCM’s donation is part of our ongoing commitment to helping charities manage their IT equipment needs through our Match My Project platform.
