Sustainability is important because it ensures that we can meet the needs of current generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This means that we need to use our resources wisely and protect our environment so that they can be used for generations to come.

The Earth's resources are finite, and we need to use them wisely in order to protect the environment for future generations. Sustainability helps us to do this by reducing pollution, conserving resources, and protecting biodiversity.

Recycling old IT equipment conserves natural resources. Many of the materials used in IT equipment can be recycled and reused, which helps to conserve natural resources such as copper, gold, and silver.

How waste is handled is one of OCM’s priorities to ensure we comply with our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System’s objectives. Sorting of components and some materials is handled by OCM before being sent to recycling partners for further destruction and processing. OCM along with all of our recycling partners have the relevant licences and registrations in place and are assessed annually.

Additionally, OCM have 167 solar panels that generate 63.44kW of electricity to minimise what we draw from the national grid.
